I have been busy meal planning and budgeting our food budget. It has actually been fun and exciting for me. I have been wanting to do this forever, and just never sat down to do it. I finally had down time during the holidays with no work and Randy home to focus on it. So, I put together the meal plan and ingredients for a week at a time worth of food and figured our budget and went to the store. I was really proud of myself and for those who know me and my family we LOVE FAST FOOD and that has always been our worse enemy too. So, no more it is a treat or our Friday Night Reward! I went .68 cents over budget which was so exciting. The lady who checked me out said she was so impressed with my calculator and written list. It made me remember the longggg grocery trips I would make with my mom, back in the day and she would have prepared her long list of things and catergorize it and have all her coupons and some red clicking thing, which I do not remember what that was for...but I hope to be as organized and frugal as she is...So, we have made some good New Years Resolutions and this was one of mine. We hope to continue striving in our New Years Resolutions and make this OUR year. I have also been getting into sewing more and more, I love the sewing group I am in and can't wait until our next meetup! I have lots of projects to work on. My goal is to make dresses for Reaganne, I have a good friend who heads our sewing group that make a dress for her daughter and then just gave it to Reaganne, because it matched her purse she made her for her B'day and I fell in love with it, so I went out and hit an awesome sale at Hobby Lobby, they had all their Simplicity Patterns on for .99 cents that's right I said .99 so cool! I bought a couple and I am ready to get started. Randy gave me a Barnes and Nobles giftcard for Christmas that someone from work gave him and I even went and got and awesome book to reference and learn from. The only thing I am lacking is a serger machine, but I can use my friends until I can upgrade one day! ;) My sewing machine is great and I have worn it in for sure and will probably wear it out! ;) I have become quite the homemaker from the person I used to be. I think lack of money and humbling myself to that has done it too! ;) haha Who cares how I got here, it just matters that I am enjoying myself.
The kids are in Preschool right now and had a great and fun first week. I have enjoyed my five hours alone during the week without them to run to the store or clean or just sit down. I forgot how insanly easy one child was. ;) James is doing good, he has acid reflux really bad, and I hope that he can out grow it in a month or so. He takes his prevacid and it instantly helps, which is nice. He hates the carseat, which is hard to drive long distances, because he screams all the time. Not many people have heard him cry, but he has the saddest cry ever, with the frowny face and all! So, when he cries like that I flash back to the NICU when I couldn't hear him and I just want to pull over and help. Reaganne helps out a lot by finding his pacifer and giving it to him and helping hold it in for him when he is upset or hungry.
Reaganne is doing great and full of questions and energy. I cannot believe she will be going to Kindergarten next year! I am nervous about where she will be in school, we don't know where we will be come this May. We might be here or we might move, I just want a good school district. Reaganne has really loved helping me in the kitchen lately and making dinner and cookies. Her favorite phrase is, "I want to help Mommy!" I have had to let my controlling side down and let her help. It has been hard for me, but she is so happy when she helps, how can I deny her. She helped me make cookies this week for our friends and she had a blast handing them out! She has a long list of other people she wants to make cookies for, so watchout we might be showing up on your door with some treats!
Taylor is full of Dinosaur energy, he is constantly roaring LOUD. He loves his dinosaurs. He has not been sleeping very well lately, he has been waking up screaming for me in the middle of the night, half the time he is doing it in his sleep and the other he is lost in the hall and scared to come down to our room. I finally put James in his room this whole past week and Taylor now is sleeping with us again. It never ends!!!! I believe he will outgrow these Night Terrors. He has enjoyed Preschool and talks about it the entire day after he goes. Taylor also started Sunbeams at Church this past Sunday, he was so reverent and good. He sang and listened carefully. I hope he is that good for me this Sunday when I teach Sharing Time. ;)
That is about all the updates that I can come up with right now.

Wow...you have really put your new year's resolutions into play!! I have found that it is really empowering to get our arms around our spending...by budgeting and really watching things. We have actually felt that sense of accomplishment as we went through all of our expenses and found so many ways that we could cut back and save money!! You'll have to introduce me to sewing one of these days...I would really like to be able to do some projects. It looks like all the kiddos are doing great...look forward to seeing you all sometime soon...maybe we can arrange a game night or something?
Yay! I love the big, bright smiles from James. Good shots mama! No more "I am scared faces." :) And yay for you on the grocery shopping thing. I know I have probably been preachy to you in the past about it, but shopping with a list, coupons, and having a weekly "menu" WORKS and is worth it! I can't shop or cook any other way and don't want to! I am getting a sewing machine from BJ's grandfather (an old one, but still a sewing machine) with a table and I can't wait to be able to just sit down and sew. Sophia loves being a "superhero" lately and has me tie her blanket around her neck, so my goal is to sew her a cape for her birthday (with some help from Nana). We reviewed our budget too and have decided to cut back and watch out more (but then I had to go out and spend nearly $500 on new tires---grrr!)The economy is just too bad right now and prices are going up everywhere! We have decided, sadly, no new car for me this year either. I will get it one day!
