Catching up

Well, it has been awhile since I have been able to do an update. To catch up..we have had some drama over here. Short version...James got a cold on a Thursday with a clear runny nose, a little green drainage on Friday (no fever), then Saturday, could not breathe and had MAJOR RETRACTION-you could count every single rib, he was throwing up b/c he could not breathe. Took him to the ER at 2:30 AM. I was so scared driving 80-85 on the tollway trying to get to the hospital, so scared he would throw-up and choke on it. We did not have to wait at all in the ER to go back, the panic on my face as we came running through the doors was enough to get us right back. They admitted him right after a chest x-ray revealed he had Pneumonia. We get up stairs and he is tested for RSV, which came back negative, but no one was happy with that test and said it was a false negative, so they took it again the next day and it came back positive. He was immediately put on antibiotics, suctioning and breathing treatments. Everyone knows I am allergic to albuterol, but I forgot to tell the staff, so the breathing treatments start and I am holding James as we are both inhaling it and here goes mommy, eyes rolling back in my head and breathing rapidly about to pass out. I hear, "Mom, Mom, what's wrong, can you hear me Mom. Mom's going down." That is what the nurse was saying to me...Hahaha.. I slur out is this albuterol and she says, "Yes", and I say, "Well, I forgot to tell you I am allergic"... hahah...so they put a mask on me and I seemed to do a lot better from that point going forward. The whole experience was so HORRIBLE, from the moment I arrived with James through all the IV's blood drawings, suctions, breathing treatments, and no sleeping or being able to pee without James screaming his head off thinking that I left him. He had no appetite, but I was able to have Randy bring his favorite juice and he drank a lot, which was good. I ended up slicing my finger on the stupid metal piece on the crib, and almost had to go down to the ER to get a stitch or two, but I refused, and they gave me a $5 giftcard to the shops down stairs...haha. Sixteen months later I never thought we would be in the hospital again, just as scared. Randy and his Dad came to give James his blessing, which was very emotional, being back in that position again. But, after a long and sleepless couple of days, we got the okay to bring him home, thinking he would sleep and be more comfortable if I was okay with administering all the treatments and suctioning. I was, because, I knew that he would rest so much more at home and every time the nurses came in for vitals, his blood pressure would sky rocket, because he was so scared of them. I was having to do the vitals as they stayed in the hallway to get decent readings it was soooooo sad. But, James was very sensitive when he was born too. I remember they had to keep it VERY quiet around him so his blood pressure would remain in a decent range, and he was on sedatives too. So after we came home, he slept so long, and was very clingy, but I was able to keep up the breathing treatments and suctioning to keep him clear to remain home. He finally is well again, but I am soooo scared of taking him anywhere to get sick again and trigger a relapse. So, in the meantime Taylor needed to go in for his well visit and get his shots and I was worried about his lingering cough since we had swine flu. She recommended both boys go get tested by a pulmunoligist for Asthma. Which I have been saying both have since I don't know when. They both wheeze and have heavy breathing and coughing. We are going to the speacilist in March. They both are on breathing treatments with nebulizers and inhalers until we get in. So, that is the update on the boys!
James playing with his gourmet burger at the hospital...you know he is sick when he is not scarfing down fries and burgers or pizza(his favorite)

Drinking his favorite apple flavored juice!!

James singing to the Imagination Movers the morning we found out we could go home..he sensed freedom coming!!!

REAGANNE LOST HER FIRST TOOTH ON JANUARY 19TH.

This was sooo exciting. He had a loose tooth for a couple of days, and finally, Tuesday night after getting out of the hospital, I asked if I could pull it. The incentive to that was of course the tooth fairy would come. So, I pulled it in less than five seconds and this the before and after. She received a $1 too from the tooth fairy. Very Cool. Whoo Reaganne!

Also Reaganne had to make a project using 100 pieces of whatever for the 100th day of school. This is what we made.

A 100 pieces of colored pasta picture frame. We had all the materials at home, and died our own pasta. It was a lot of fun to make together. She was very proud of it. (so was I) Reaganne also recieved her progress report for the nine weeks and she has excelled soooo much! She is doing great! Her teacher kept her after class the other day to test her for the progress report update, and she was so proud of Reaganne and I for the hard work we have been doing together to learn her sight words. It has been challenging, on me and Reaganne. Reaganne seems to have the same issue that I had as a child and that is not being able to focus on the task at hand and being really emotional when she gets it wrong or I show any sign of fustration or anger towards her. I am learning to be more encouraging and make the learning more of a game than a chore. Obviously it is working! Go Reaganne and Mommy!

I cut the boys hair too! Daddy, Taylor and James all stopped by the Marvelous Make-over Salon of Mommy! LOL

Taylor and Daddy got shaved...I was a little scared to shave Randy's head, but he looks gooooood though. Taylor always looks good with a shaved head. (Pictures to come) NOW-James, I refuse to shave his head, I want one boy with traditional hair cuts. So, I cut James' hair for his first hair cut and it looks awesome. He looks like a handsome big boy now.
