The season has started again...James' asthma and respiratory issues are back! We enjoyed a healthy summer, and now we are back to breathing treatments and other sicknesses. Poor James, he is such a happy and excited little boy all the time. When he gets sick it is such a dramatic change. My heart breaks to see him so sick. He started with a runny nose and cough, then it escalated to severe wheezing and high fevers. He had a HORRIBLE double ear infection, that in fact his left ear almost burst, and a pneumonia scare. We treated him for pneumonia because it could have turned into that so fast. So after three rounds of double Rocefrin shots his ears were finally better, and the wheezing and crackling was clearing. We spend five straight days going to emergency care and the doctors office to monitor him closely. I was very grateful that each time the Dr. allowed me to take him home and treat him around the clock with close monitoring and steroid treatments so we did not have to spend anytime in the hospital. We had some very close calls, but I was able to maintain his breathing enough to keep him (and me) comfortable at home. That was a really long week! Keeping up with shuffling the kids around, homework, projects, and parties for their classes. Thank goodness we were well enough to attend Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa Grumbles with all the cousins. The kids enjoy each other soooo much, and 'us' adults enjoy each other. As every year, Joan out did herself on an amazing yummy dinner. Here are some pics of poor James as he went through his illness.
The beginning...

Spiked fever and wheezing

The next morning...poor baby!!!

Waiting at the "After Hours Care"-One of the wonderful benefits of why we moved closer to his hospitals/specialist! They take regular office visit copays!! Great staff...stayed late for us and were great!!!

Instructed to show up at our Pediatrician's office first thing in the morning for follow-up for his breathing and Rocefrin shots.

Waiting for the Doctor...sooo lathargic through all of this. NOT MY JAMES!

Trying to raise his oxygen level from a 89, back to back steriod breathing treatments and 1 tsp of an oral...only raised it to a 93! Left for an X-ray at the hospital and came back to decide if we were going to the Hospital.

Passing out everywhere...he was so exhausted!

The ONLY THING THAT MADE HIM not whine or breakdown emotionally every second! CANDY!!!

After four Rocefrin shots and almost busted ear, and multiple oral steriods and breathing treatments...I got a smile...but I am sure it is because he got the whole box of Mike and Ikes! ;)

They all joined in on the Candy fun!!! ;) Reaganne and Taylor were so awesome through this hard week, and anytime James is sick. They know their baby brother is precious cargo and give him lots of loves and hugs to make him feel better too!

Then the ridiculous Texas weather decided to change again...and it was 80 and he was better and ready to hit the park! The kids love the park and we live with in walking distance to some awesome parks.
