Momma got a Minivan just in time for Back to School/First Day of School

So, for those who don't know...I got my Minivan finally!!! I have wanted a minivan since I was pregnant with Reaganne. I have always wanted to be the "soccer mom" (minus soccer-hate that sport) lol We live at the community where Randy works, and we traded in the two 2007 Honda Civics for a 2010 Kia Sedona. I have always wanted a Sedona for many reasons. Our life right now consist of a three mile radius around where we live, plus the once a week trip to Allen to see Grandma and Grandpa Grumbles. We go to the schools, gym, and church. Randy goes to the bank for deposits and court house. All these facilities are within three miles of where we live, so it was the best decision for our size family and our pocket book, we are saving over $300 a month by making this decision. ;) We will purchase a second vehicle I am sure in six months or so, that doesn't have monthly payments.

REAGANNE'S FIRST DAY OF FIRST GRADE!

This moment made me tear up, you can see the nervous uneasy feelings Rea had at that moment of uncertainty. She has a great, young, and energetic teacher.

James helping me take Rea to school the next day.

TAYLOR'S FIRST DAY OF PRE-SCHOOL!!

A very HAPPY James that he has some MOMMY TIME! ;)

Taylor wanted all the pictures taken over the second day of school too...lol So we did the van to, but I will spare you those! ;) lol

CARPOOL PICTURE FUN!

James jammin' to the music.

Friday Daddy took a vacation day and spent the day with me and James running errands and grocery shopping, but most of all experiencing the HELL that is Carpool lines and the waiting in the heat. (with the car tunred off) I have complained all week and he did not believe me. Well, Daddy learned a lot, he learned that you don't tell Mommy how to drive her minivan, pack the grocery cart, add to the grocery list if it is not written down (I am anal when it comes to the budget/amount I have written down), and why I go at a certain time to the school to wait for the kids. lol
We had our Family Home Evening Lesson this past Monday and we challenged the kids to memorize the scripture that was in the lesson I taught. If they memorized the scripture we would take them for Ice Cream at Braum's after school on Friday. So, they started right away, and had it memorized by Tues. night and recited it all week as soon as they got in the car to remind me that they still remembered it. It was really cute! I told Randy we should start the Articles of Faith next FHE and that way they will have all their AOF memorized before they are even required! ;) And of course ice cream will be reward at the end of the week. ;) This was the start of our day at Whataburger with James. He loves his Mommy/Daddy time. He was very happy with his little 'bucket of fries'!

After a fun Friday afternoon...My half Indian half Fish children! Becuase they are crazy dark and can swim amazingly well. James is already swimming with just a life jacket with no assistance and Taylor and Reaganne are both able to swim the whole length of the pool with nothing. ;) Swim team is in their future, just like their Daddy! ;)

Ok, I'm thinking waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy back to good old 1997, and I'm trying to picture that girl saying "I have always wanted a minivan!" I love it!

Your kids are so freaking cute! Mine are crazy dark too (thank you half Spanish daddy), and don't even look like mine. Good thing I have my little pasty baby Zoe.

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! OMG! Your dream came true!!!! I bet it is so nice and doesn't feel real yet does it?? That makes sense, though, with where you live now that 2 cars really isn't necessary. Big congrats on that one! We still need to get together!
